United States President-elect Donald Trump has promised to address what he describes as the “transgender lunacy” starting on his first day in office, as Republicans prepare to control both Congress and the White House.
Speaking to young conservatives at an event in Phoenix, Arizona, Trump outlined his plans to implement stricter policies on LGBTQ issues and other national concerns. He stated, “I will sign executive orders to end child sexual mutilation, get transgender out of the military and out of our elementary schools and middle schools and high schools.”
In the same speech, Trump presented his broader agenda for a second term, highlighting intentions to tackle “migrant crime,” dismantle drug cartels, and revisit U.S. agreements regarding the Panama Canal.
“On January 20, the United States will turn the page forever on four long, horrible years of failure, incompetence, national decline, and we will inaugurate a new era of peace, prosperity, and national greatness,” he declared. Trump added, “The golden age of America is upon us.”
Regarding foreign policy, Trump pledged to end the war in Ukraine, stabilize the Middle East, and prevent a potential World War III. However, he did not provide specific details on how these objectives would be achieved.
Trump also criticized Panama Canal fees imposed by Panamanian authorities, labeling them as “ridiculous.” He warned that if terms under the 1970s treaty granting Panama control of the canal were not honored, the U.S. would demand full control of the waterway “quickly and without question.”
On immigration, he reiterated his promise to launch “the largest deportation operation in American history.” Trump vowed to designate drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations and dismantle their networks within the United States. “This criminal network operating on American soil will be dismantled, deported, and destroyed,” he asserted.
Trump’s proposals have drawn strong reactions from various quarters, signaling a polarizing approach to domestic and international issues as he prepares to assume office.
