Danlami Abdullahi Saku, the Local Government Chairman of Niger State has died in a recent car crash on Tuesday, 10th December, 2024.
The Chairman as per reports died around Kwakuti village on Minna-Suleja road while two other occupants sustained injuries on their way to a function in Abuja in his car.

In his statement, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Muazu Hamish Jantabo, confirmed the incident.
“It is with deep sadness but total submission to the will of Allah that I, on behalf of the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, send my heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and people of Katcha Local Government Area over the sudden and tragic loss of the Chairman, Hon. Danlami Abdullahi Saku.
“Hon. Saku was a commited leader whose dedication and service to the development of Katcha Local Government will be remembered for years to come,” he said.
As at the time of this report, the Chairman has been received and laid to rest by his family.
