The renowned actor and musician, Jamie Foxx, has shared details about the medical emergency that led to his hospitalization in April last year, revealing he suffered a brain bleed that caused a stroke.
In his recent Netflix special, Foxx, 56, recounted experiencing a severe headache before blacking out for nearly 20 days. Initially described by his daughter, Corinne, as a “medical complication,” the Oscar-winning actor has now disclosed that doctors identified a brain bleed as the cause of the stroke during his treatment at Piedmont Hospital.

“It’s still a mystery. We don’t know exactly what happened,” Foxx said. He recounted asking for an aspirin to ease the headache but losing consciousness before he could take it.
When he woke up, he found himself unable to walk and confined to a wheelchair. Following surgery, doctors warned him of a challenging recovery journey, describing it as “the worst year of his life.”
Foxx credited his family for shielding him from public scrutiny during his recovery. His daughter, Corinne, was particularly concerned about protecting his dignity and avoiding unwanted attention that could lead to ridicule.
Despite the ordeal, Foxx has made a remarkable recovery and continues to share his journey with fans.
