The Sokoto State Government has rolled out an e-ticketing system for its 126 mass transit vehicles used for inter-state, intra-city, and inter-local government transportation.
The system was unveiled on Monday during a demonstration to Governor Ahmed Aliyu, showcasing its ease of use for passengers.
Governor Aliyu stated that the initiative aims to enhance transparency and accountability within the state’s mass transit operations.
“This system will promote a cashless economy and ensure all transportation fares are channeled directly into government accounts,” he said.
He added that the system guarantees value for money invested in the vehicles and will help curb financial mismanagement.
The e-ticketing system is one of several reforms introduced by the administration to modernize public services in the state.
