Five-time World Player of the Year, Cristiano Ronaldo, has officially launched his own YouTube channel, titled “UR. Cristiano,” marking a significant milestone in his illustrious career.
Within just the first hour of its debut on Wednesday, the channel achieved an astonishing feat, amassing over 1 million subscribers, setting a new world record.
Ronaldo, widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time, enjoys a massive following of over 917 million across various social media platforms. Currently the captain of both Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia and the Portuguese national team, Ronaldo’s influence transcends the football field.
The “UR. Cristiano” channel is set to compete with American YouTube sensation MrBeast, who holds the record for the most-subscribed YouTube channel, boasting 311 million subscribers as of August 2024.
Ronaldo’s channel launched with 17 videos and promises to explore his “greatest passion”—football—while also delving into personal interests such as family, wellness, nutrition, preparation, recovery, education, and business.
Fans can anticipate engaging content, including Ronaldo’s conversations with various guests, offering a deeper glimpse into the life of the legendary footballer.
At 39 years old, Ronaldo continues to break barriers, having scored over 890 official senior career goals for both club and country, making him the all-time leading goalscorer. His career, spanning over two decades, includes celebrated tenures at Manchester United, Real Madrid, Sporting Lisbon, and Juventus.
Expressing his excitement about the new venture, Ronaldo said, “I am very happy to bring this project to life. It has been on my mind for a long time, and now we finally have the opportunity to make it real.
“I have always enjoyed having such a strong relationship with fans on social media, and my YouTube channel will give me an even bigger platform to connect with them. They will learn more about me, my family, and my views on many different subjects. I am also looking forward to sharing conversations with guests that will no doubt surprise people!”
Ronaldo’s career is decorated with numerous accolades, including 33 trophies, five UEFA Champions League titles, five Ballon d’Or awards, and a record three UEFA Men’s Player of the Year Awards. He also holds records for the most appearances, goals, and assists in both the Champions League and European Championship, as well as the most international goals and appearances.
