The Nigeria Police Force has released Zion Ubani, widely known as Zfancy, following his arrest by the NPF-National Cybercrime Centre on July 4 in Abuja, where he faced serious allegations including rape.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, disclosed that Zfancy was granted bail with the condition that he refrains from creating pranks that could potentially cause public unrest.
Zfancy was handed over to executives of the Practitioners of Content Creation, Skit-Making, and Influencers Guild of Nigeria, facilitated by a delegation led by Tokoni Igoin, Special Assistant to the President on ICT Development and Digital Innovation.
Adejobi clarified that investigations revealed the controversial videos were scripted in nature.
“While promoting positive creativity among the youth, the NPF urges content creators to use social media responsibly and avoid disseminating misinformation that could provoke public disorder,” Adejobi emphasized.
Zfancy’s recent arrest follows previous social media allegations linking him to ritual practices.
