Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has attributed the successes of his administration to divine guidance and has called on traditional and religious leaders to actively communicate his government’s developmental strides to rural communities.
Speaking at the New Year inter-religious prayer held at the Government Secretariat, Abere, Osogbo, on Thursday, Adeleke emphasized his reliance on spiritual direction in decision-making. He urged leaders to act as ambassadors of his administration’s progress and engage grassroots populations with stories of transformation.
“God’s presence has been central to the decisions we make in this administration,” Adeleke said.
“Our achievements are undeniable, even by our political opponents. I am committed to policies and programs that uplift the people of Osun State, and I urge our leaders to help amplify this message among our citizens.”
Leadership and Accountability
The governor reiterated his pledge to uphold accountability and ensure that state resources are utilized for the benefit of all. He expressed a deep commitment to ethical governance, stating;

“We will not misuse state power. Instead, we will channel it toward the development of our people and our state. Genuine service to the people is a form of worship to God, and this administration remains steadfast in that path.”
Adeleke also encouraged collaboration between the government and community leaders, highlighting the importance of shared efforts in achieving developmental goals.

Former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, who were present at the event, commended Adeleke’s leadership and prayed for his continued success in office.
In their separate remarks, both leaders expressed optimism for a prosperous year under the current administration. The Ooni of Ife lauded Adeleke’s commitment to the welfare of Osun citizens, while Oyinlola emphasized the importance of unity among leaders to ensure sustainable development.
Governor Adeleke concluded his address with a charge to religious and traditional leaders to bridge the gap between government policies and grassroots understanding. “Let the people know that this government is dedicated to their welfare and that we are working tirelessly to serve them faithfully,” he said.
