Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate from the 2023 election, has called on President Bola Tinubu to address the nation in light of the ongoing #EndBadGovernance protests.
In an interview with Arise TV, Obi urged the protesters to conduct their demonstrations within legal boundaries. He emphasized that lawful protest is crucial, and he encouraged the President to demonstrate leadership by speaking to the country.
Obi stated, “My message to the protesters is that all actions should remain within the law. As responsible citizens, it is important that our demands are made legally.”
He further remarked, “I appeal to President Tinubu to address the nation. He is the elected leader and holds the mandate of the people. This is a critical time for him to show leadership and communicate directly with the citizens.”
Additionally, Obi denied reports of his involvement in a protest in Abuja, clarifying that he has been in Onitsha, Anambra State. He explained, “I am currently in Onitsha. It is not possible to be in both Abuja and Onitsha at the same time. I have been in Onitsha since yesterday following my visit to the School of Nursing in Benin.”
