Ali Ndume, the Borno South Senator, has voiced his dissatisfaction over what he considers unfair treatment following his removal as Chief Whip of the Senate in the 10th Assembly.
Speaking from his home in Maiduguri on Friday, Ndume expressed that his actions did not justify his dismissal from the position.
Ndume also declined the offer to chair the Senate Committee on Tourism, citing his lack of experience and exposure for such a crucial role. He revealed that he never aspired to be a senate whip again after previously serving as the leader in the eighth senate. Instead, he indicated a preference for a vice-chairmanship role in a committee.
Addressing the issue of leaving the APC, Ndume clarified that he is a founding member of the party, recounting his involvement from its inception when he and others from the PDP formed the APC.
He mentioned consultations with his constituents before making any decisions about his party affiliation, in response to recent suggestions that he might leave.
Explaining his delayed response to the developments, Ndume mentioned he was mourning a family member, which precluded immediate public statements on his political situation.
