The Nigerian military successfully foiled an attempted terrorist attack on Department of State Services (DSS) assets in Niger State. There was a swift intervention of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF).
The intervention was led by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), utilizing Super Tucano fighter jets to carry out airstrikes that eliminated dozens of insurgents.
According to a defense intelligence source, the terrorists were targeting DSS facilities in the Bassa community of Shiroro Local Government Area.
The air assault, launched in response to intelligence reports of an impending ambush, resulted in the deaths of at least 30 insurgents, significantly reducing the threat in the area.
The source, speaking on condition of anonymity, praised the rapid response, noting the effectiveness of the airstrikes and minimal casualties among DSS personnel.
