As Nigeria marks Workers’ Day, workers in Kaduna state have set criteria for the incoming government both at the federal and state government to improve the welfare of workers.
Kaduna State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Ayuba Suleiman said this year’s workers’ day coincides with the transition of government which therefore means a new government will take over power.
Ayuba said the productivity and safety of workers in the state have been largely affected by banditry and terrorism in different parts of the state which needs improvement and other issues of labour.
Other workers and their leaders appeal to the incoming government to learn from the mistakes of the outgoing government over the last eight years which had a bit of mixed feelings on the workers’ side.
They pray that government will prioritize youth employment which is one of the major factors leading to insecurity and other social vices in the country.
