Man Arrested for Threatening Biden Following Failed Trump Assassination Attempt

Jason Patrick Alday, 39, from Quincy, Florida, has been arrested after allegedly making threats against President Joe Biden and other federal officials, announced the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Florida.

Alday came under scrutiny after reportedly issuing threats against President Biden during a check-in at a Tallahassee mental health facility last month. Further threatening statements attributed to him were also allegedly posted on the social media platform X.

Federal authorities have detained Alday pending trial as they continue their investigation into the severity and scope of his threats.

This arrest follows closely on the heels of a violent incident involving former President Donald Trump. During a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, Trump narrowly escaped injury when a gunman opened fire, injuring Trump in the ear and fatally shooting one attendee before being killed by Secret Service snipers.

In other developments, President Biden has tested positive for COVID-19, as confirmed by the White House. He has opted to self-isolate at his residence until further updates are provided.
