The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Adegoke Fayoade, orchestrated a significant ‘show of force’ operation across key areas of the state on Friday, July 19.
This operation, spanning locales like Ikeja, Ojota, Third Mainland Bridge, Obalende, Victoria Island, Lekki, Apongbon, Ijora, Costain, Stadium, Ogunlana Drive, Itire, Ojuelegba, Palmgrove, and Maryland, aimed to bolster security amidst reports of upcoming nationwide protests from August 1 to 10, triggered by rising living costs and economic challenges.
Led by Commander CSP Shola Jejeloye of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), the exercise was a proactive measure directed by CP Adegoke Fayoade to ensure heightened police visibility and readiness for any potential unrest.
During the operation, CSP Jejeloye underscored the patrol’s objective to reassure residents about their safety and to maintain vigilance for swift response to emergencies.
A statement from the police unit highlighted the strategic convoy patrol as part of ongoing efforts to uphold public safety and readiness in Lagos.
