The Lagos State government has sealed several establishments across the state for failing to comply with environmental laws, including noise pollution regulations.
The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), which carried out the enforcement, announced on Wednesday that the affected establishments include churches, restaurants, and hotels.
LASEPA General Manager, Babatunde Ajayi, emphasized the agency’s zero-tolerance policy towards environmental violations. The latest operation targeted areas such as Ikeja, Mushin, Gbagada, and Maryland.
Among the sealed businesses were Vital Products Limited, A&P Nigeria Limited, Polite Anchorage and Suites, the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Terrag Inn Apartment, Evening Class Guest House, Celestial Church of God, Charley’s Bar, and 7th Heaven Hotel & Suites.
Ajayi revealed that these facilities had ignored multiple warnings from LASEPA before being sealed off. He urged businesses to adhere to environmental standards and work with the state government to promote a cleaner, more sustainable Lagos.
“We will not tolerate non-compliance with our regulations,” Ajayi stated, stressing the need for all businesses to fulfill their environmental responsibilities.
