Independence: Why We Should Appreciate Being Nigerians – Okonjo-Iweala

The Director-General of the World Trade Organization, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has praised Nigerians for their resilience and entrepreneurial spirit amidst global challenges.

She urged Nigerians to appreciate being one of the most interesting countries in the world.

Okonjo-Iweala stated this on Tuesday while commemorating Nigeria’s 64th Independence Anniversary.

Speaking via a post on X, the WTO Director-general stated that despite tough times, Nigeria harbours some of the most entrepreneurial people in the world.

She wrote, “Though times are tough internationally and nationally, we should appreciate that we are from one of the most interesting countries in the world with some of the most exciting and entrepreneurial people in the world! I certainly appreciate and thank God for this!”
