While no fatalities were recorded, several passengers sustained minor injuries. Dr. Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, revealed that the injured, including the Ford bus driver and five others, had left the scene before emergency responders arrived. Some drivers and passengers escaped unhurt.
LASEMA has since coordinated recovery operations and implemented safety measures to prevent secondary accidents, ensuring that the site is secure for further investigation and clearing. The incident highlights the pressing need for stringent vehicle maintenance standards to avoid such disasters on Lagos roads.
