Popular Nigerian rapper and activist, Folarin Falana, also known as Falz, has confirmed communication with social media personality Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, regarding legal issues faced by Bobrisky earlier this year.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Falz disclosed that Bobrisky had requested ₦3 million to secure a VIP section at the Correctional Centre. However, Falz categorically rejected the request, advising against any payments to officials.
The clarification follows a letter from Falz’s legal team, Falana & Falana Chambers, demanding a retraction from Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, for defamatory claims made against the rapper.
The accusations suggested Falz conspired with Bobrisky to manipulate legal proceedings and seek a presidential pardon.
The letter, dated September 26, 2024, outlined that while Bobrisky reached out to Falz, the rapper only offered legal advice and refused any financial assistance. Falz’s legal team has demanded an immediate public retraction and apology, warning of legal action if the demands are not met within 24 hours.
