Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has weighed in on the speculation linking Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, with a potential move to Chelsea during the January transfer window.
This follows recent comments by former Chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi, who hinted at the possibility of Osimhen joining the London club.
During the summer transfer window, Chelsea made multiple attempts to sign the 25-year-old, presenting him with four contract offers.
However, the negotiations fell apart as Chelsea was unable to match Osimhen’s salary demands at Napoli, leading to his season-long loan to Galatasaray.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano clarified that Osimhen is committed to honouring his contract with Galatasaray.
He also highlighted Chelsea’s continued admiration for the player, noting that while financial complexities hindered a summer move, the club’s interest in Osimhen remains strong.
Romano stated: “Chelsea understands what happened in the final days of August… but their appreciation for Victor Osimhen remains concrete and unchanged.”
