Elon Musk, owner of the X social platform and known for his roles at SpaceX and Tesla, has voiced strong criticism against the mail-in voting process for the upcoming November election in the United States.
In a statement on his X platform, Musk argued that electronic voting machines and mail-in ballots pose significant risks, advocating instead for manual paper ballots and in-person voting to eliminate potential fraud.
“Mandating paper ballots and in-person voting only would make fraud impossible,” Musk asserted, adding that having cameras at in-person voting stations could help prevent large-scale fraud by verifying the number of voters against ballots cast.
Musk’s comments came shortly after President Joe Biden’s office indicated opposition to a House Representatives bill aimed at preventing non-Americans from voting in federal elections. Biden denounced the bill as unnecessary and potentially harmful to voter registration efforts.
“It is already illegal for noncitizens to vote in federal elections,” President Biden stated, emphasizing that the bill’s purported justifications were based on unfounded claims.
House Speaker Mike Johnson responded to Biden’s stance, interpreting it as opening the door to noncitizen voting and criticizing the President’s immigration policies.
“It should alarm every American citizen that the sitting President of the United States, who has opened our border to over 9 million illegals, just announced that he would veto our bill to prevent noncitizens from voting,” Speaker Johnson remarked on his X platform.
Elon Musk has been actively engaging with and supporting tweets from Republican politicians, reflecting his consistent alignment with certain political viewpoints on electoral matters.
