Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s administration in Ekiti State has successfully secured funding exceeding $200 million from the World Bank to drive comprehensive economic development initiatives within the state.
This significant achievement was announced by Dr. Ndiame Diop, the Country Director of the World Bank, during an official meeting with Governor Oyebanji earlier this week. Dr. Diop highlighted that $60 million of the allocated funds have already been earmarked for crucial projects aimed at advancing Ekiti State’s development agenda.
The allocated funds are designated for eight distinct projects, reflecting a concerted effort among various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to ensure effective implementation and impactful outcomes.
Governor Oyebanji, speaking at a strategic gathering with Heads of Development Agencies in Abuja, reiterated his commitment to strengthening partnerships with local and international organizations. He emphasized the role of collaboration in accelerating economic growth and achieving development objectives across key sectors such as infrastructure, agriculture, healthcare, and education.
Highlighting Ekiti State’s commitment to transparency and reform-oriented governance, Governor Oyebanji underscored the administration’s dedication to fostering trust among stakeholders. He emphasized the state’s attractiveness for investments, citing its leading position in transparency rankings and its status as the most secure state in Nigeria.
Governor Oyebanji affirmed his government’s strategic approach to implementing Ekiti State’s 30-year development strategy, leveraging partnerships with national and international development allies to mobilize resources effectively.
