The 650,000 barrels per day oil processing plant that will process crude oil grades from the three continents of Africa, Asia, and America started operations today at the Dangote Refinery.
According to reports, the refinery will supply Nigeria with an excess of nearly 38 million liters of gasoline, diesel, kerosene, and aviation fuel each day, fully satisfying the nation’s need for fuel.
The Dangote Refinery could support the establishment of 26,716 filling stations, generate 100,000 direct and indirect jobs, and provide a $21 billion market for Nigerian crude oil yearly, according to data in a document that was received from the firm on Sunday.
Dangote Refinery covers an area of approximately 2,635 hectares in the Lekki Free Trade Zone in Lagos.
The presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, had tweeted that the inauguration would be done by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).
“Efforts by the Federal Government to make Nigeria self-sufficient in local refining of crude oil to save the scarce foreign exchange used in the importation of petroleum products have received a boost as the 650,000 barrels per day Dangote Refinery, the world’s largest single-train refinery, is set for inauguration on May 22nd, 2023, by President Muhammadu Buhari,”
“There will be constant availability of high-quality fuels for our transportation sector, the refinery will also make available to our industries vital raw materials for wide range of manufacturing.”
