Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Group, has provided insights into why the initial batch of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, produced at the Dangote Refinery, appears significantly clearer than the petrol currently available on the market.
In a broadcast from the refinery located in the Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos State, Dangote explained that the clarity of this petrol signifies its adherence to higher environmental standards. He noted that this cleaner fuel is formulated to be more environmentally friendly, potentially reducing health risks linked to pollutants found in conventional petroleum products.
Dangote also pointed out the advantages of this refined petrol in safeguarding vehicle engines from the damage typically caused by the lower-quality fuels available in the market.
Presenting a sample of the new petrol, Dangote stated, “This is the sample of the petrol. You see it as a different color, but that is the real deal. You are now going to have a good and real product.”
He also discussed the diesel produced at the refinery, saying, “I am sure Nigerians have not seen this color of diesel before. This is called Euro-5 diesel. It contains less than 10 parts per million (PPM) of sulfur, which will help vehicles, engines, and generators last longer.”
Dangote emphasized the significance of these advancements for public health and environmental safety, stating, “The health of the people and the environment will not be compromised. This is the real deal.”
