Nigerian music superstar Burna Boy has expanded his influence into the world of football by launching a football academy across three major cities in Nigeria.
The academy, named Burna Boy Football Academy, offers training sessions three days a week, with each session lasting two hours.
Burna Boy FA operates out of two training centers in Lagos—located in Lekki and Surulere—as well as one center each in Abuja and Port Harcourt.
Unveiled on Monday, August 12, via its official website, the academy is dedicated to nurturing young talent, accepting players between the ages of 4 and 15, as well as those aged 16 to 21.
According to the academy’s vision, its goal is to provide a learning environment where young players can develop fundamental football skills alongside education, discipline, and technique, equipping them to succeed both in sports and in life.
The academy places a strong emphasis on sports education in conjunction with academic studies and actively encourages parental involvement in the development process.
Burna Boy FA has already established partnerships with several reputable English Premier League clubs, including Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Leicester City, and Brighton & Hove Albion. The academy also has connections with Watford in the English Championship and Scottish clubs Hearts and Hamilton.
Before gaining widespread attention online, the academy had been operating quietly, with results from seven friendly matches posted on its website. These matches resulted in four victories, two losses, and one draw.
