Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has revealed that he is struggling with suicidal thoughts amidst the ongoing bribery scandal involving the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The media personality has been accused by social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, of allegedly bribing EFCC officials with ₦15 million to drop a money laundering case against him.
According to VeryDarkMan, Bobrisky was also placed in a private apartment during his jail term rather than a regular prison.
The activist shared a now-viral audio clip where Bobrisky reportedly confessed to paying unnamed EFCC officials to avoid charges.
In response, the EFCC chairman, through spokesperson Dele Oyewale, confirmed on Tuesday that a team of investigators has been assigned to probe the allegations. Both Bobrisky and VeryDarkMan have been summoned for questioning at the EFCC’s Lagos office.
Addressing the situation on his Instagram page on September 26, Bobrisky expressed that the controversy is driving him to consider suicide, stating that the scandal is fueled by hatred and an attempt to bring him down.
