Bashir El-Rufai, son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, issued a stern warning on Wednesday, asserting that no political figure is immune to being voted out of power by the people in the upcoming 2027 general elections.
In a post on his social media handle, Bashir emphasized the inevitability of electoral change and dismissed intimidations circulating within political circles. He urged patience among the populace, suggesting that even international bodies like the IMF and World Bank would be unable to intervene when the time comes.
“I didn’t call names o, but due to their guilt, they already know who is being spoken about. Wallahi, none of you will force anyone to support this utter failure of governance disguised as useless, dangerous ethnocentric political strategy,” Bashir asserted in a subsequent post.
The remarks come amid allegations against his father, Nasir El-Rufai, regarding misappropriation of public funds during his tenure as Kaduna State governor.
