Bashir El-Rufai Denies Allegations of Father’s Involvement in Embezzlement

Bashir El-Rufai, son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has refuted claims that his father embezzled public funds during his tenure in office.

In May 2024, the Kaduna State House of Assembly accused El-Rufai’s administration of misappropriating N432 billion and leaving significant debt for the state.

Responding to a microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter) query, a netizen asked Bashir about the allegations against his father. In his response, Bashir stated that he could not confirm the allegations, emphasizing that the truth lies between his father and Allah.

While Bashir asserted that the man he knows as his father is not involved in theft, he did not directly address the specific allegations of embezzlement.
