Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman has been crowned the CAF Footballer of the Year at a ceremony held in Marrakech, Morocco, on Monday night.
The Atalanta forward emerged as the winner ahead of Ivory Coast’s Simon Adingra, PSG’s Achraf Hakimi, Guinea’s Serhou Guirassy, and South African goalkeeper Ronwen Williams.
Lookman’s exceptional performances over the past year include becoming the first player since 1975 to score a hat-trick in a Europa League/UEFA Cup final, achieving the feat against Bayer Leverkusen. He was also named in the Europa League Team of the Year and had a direct hand in 18 league goals for Atalanta.
This recognition highlights Lookman’s remarkable impact on club and international football in the past season.
