Gunmen Kill Student, 2 Others In Fresh Plateau Attack

Gunmen on Thursday night, reportedly killed three persons, including a Bokkos University student, in a fresh attack on Butura community in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.

A Student at the institution, who gave his name as George Lazarus, told our correspondent that a 200-level student of Computer Science development, was among those killed.

Our correspondent gathered that the gunmen stormed the community at about 9pm and started shooting continuously.

Sources from the community also told our correspondent that the killing of the student prompted a protest by students but were dispersed by personnel of Operation Safe maintaining peace in the area.

Contacted the Spokesperson of Operation Safe Haven, Major Samson Zhakom, said he was not aware of the attack but would confirm from the area and get back to our correspondent. As at the time of filing this report, he had not called back.

Recall that on last Sunday, a similar attack was launched on two communities in Mangu and Bokkos LGAs where three people were killed.
