Ace Nigerian music producer and Mavin Records boss, Don Jazzy, has humorously warned fans and associates to stop offering him free gifts with hidden expectations of major favours in return.
In a lighthearted video shared on his Instagram page, Don Jazzy addressed the unintended consequences of accepting unsolicited gifts. He explained that people often demand disproportionate favours after seemingly generous gestures.
“You are selling Nkwobi, you come and give me free Nkwobi. I don’t want free Nkwobi. But you now give me free Nkwobi, I’ve chop it finish. Then later you’re asking me to give you Rema. How you want to use Nkwobi to collect Rema?
Don’t give me. I don’t want. Thank you. Bye bye.”
Don Jazzy’s tongue-in-cheek remarks have sparked conversations online about the pressure celebrities face from fans who expect returns for goodwill gestures.
Meanwhile, Nigerian singer Adekunle Temitope, popularly known as Small Doctor, has expressed deep concern over the rising trend of drug abuse among Nigerian youths.
In a heartfelt post via (formerly Twitter), the Omo Better singer recounted his recent visit to his childhood neighbourhood, describing it as heartbreaking.
According to him, he witnessed young men—once full of potential—reduced to shadows of themselves due to substance abuse.
Small Doctor also recalled advice from Fuji legend Wasiu Ayinde six years ago, who had urged him to consider opening a rehabilitation centre, predicting the need would grow significantly.
He lamented:
“Saw some guys I grew up with, standing and sleeping at the same time. This drug issue is heartbreaking. We need more awareness and action.”
The singer urged for urgent advocacy and community efforts to tackle the growing crisis, warning of its long-term impact on future generations.
