La Liga giants, Real Madrid, have confirmed that French forward Kylian Mbappé will be absent from their lineup for the Copa del Rey semi-final first leg against Real Sociedad on Wednesday due to a dental issue.
The star striker did not participate in training on Tuesday but will still travel to San Sebastián, as confirmed by coach Carlo Ancelotti.
Mbappé, who has been Madrid’s top scorer this season with 28 goals in 39 appearances across all competitions, is a notable absence for the match. Additionally, midfielder Fede Valverde and goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois have been excluded from the squad due to minor fitness concerns.
In positive news for Madrid, England international Jude Bellingham has returned to the squad following a suspension that kept him out of Sunday’s La Liga win over Girona.
Meanwhile, in the other Copa del Rey semi-final, Barcelona and Atlético Madrid played out an exhilarating 4-4 draw in their first leg.
