Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has expressed optimism about the prospect of peace, citing the influence of elected U.S. President, Donald Trump as a potential catalyst for ending the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
Zelensky highlighted the unique position Trump holds on the global stage, describing how their interactions have drawn keen interest from European leaders.
“It won’t be long because Europe will be looking at us, and we will be looking at Trump,” Zelensky said.
“When I talk about something with Donald Trump, either in person or on a call, all the European Presidents always ask, ‘How was it?’ This shows the influence of Donald Trump. This has never happened before with an American President, I tell you from my experience.”

The Ukrainian leader expressed confidence in Trump’s ability to influence the trajectory of the war.
“This also gives you confidence that he can stop this war,” he added.
