The Federal Institute of Industrial Research (FIIRO) office located in Oshodi, Lagos, near Cappa Bus Stop, has been ravaged by fire.
The blaze reportedly began around midnight on Wednesday, December 25, and continued into the early hours of Thursday, December 26. Emergency services have been working tirelessly to contain the inferno.
Personnel from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, in collaboration with the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA), have been at the scene battling to extinguish the flames and prevent it from spreading to nearby offices and structures.
Preliminary reports indicate that while no casualties have been recorded, the fire has caused extensive damage to property valued at millions of naira.
Rescue and containment efforts were ongoing as of 5 am on Thursday, with responders intensifying measures to bring the situation under control.
Further investigations are expected to determine the cause of the fire and assess the extent of the damage.
