In a move to bring relief to Nigerians during the holiday season, Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced another reduction in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), bringing it down to N899.50 per litre.
The refinery, the first privately-owned oil refining facility in Africa, previously reduced the price to N970 per litre on November 24. This latest cut is aimed at lessening the financial burden associated with transportation, particularly during the festive period when travel costs typically rise.
Speaking on the development, Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Group, confirmed the price adjustment in a statement issued on Thursday.
“The reduction is part of our commitment to supporting Nigerians during the holiday season by easing transportation costs,” the statement noted.

The announcement is expected to provide some respite to millions of Nigerians who rely heavily on road transport for their holiday travels.
This move comes amid growing calls for lower fuel prices nationwide following increased energy costs earlier this year. Industry analysts suggest that this reduction could spur other oil marketers to consider similar measures in the weeks ahead.
