Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has described some Nigerians involved in protests against economic hardship as “sore losers.”
The Governor asserted that those behind the protests are aiming to oust President Bola Tinubu from power, using the guise of economic dissatisfaction to express their discontent.
He emphasized that such individuals should wait until the next election cycle in 2027 rather than sponsor what he termed as “faceless protests.”
Abiodun stated, “The majority of Nigerians voted for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He won the election decisively, which indicates that those who wanted him as President outnumbered those who didn’t. The problem we face today is that some Nigerians are sore losers. Rather than accepting the results and waiting for 2027, they sponsor anonymous and leaderless protests.”
He further noted that the current economic challenges are not unique to Nigeria, urging citizens to collaborate with President Tinubu to improve the country.
“The economic difficulties are not exclusive to Nigeria. There were protests in Ghana yesterday and in London today. So what are we talking about? The remedy for a headache is not to cut off the head. We must all work together, engage in constructive dialogue, and support each other,” the Governor added.
