President Joe Biden has accused Elon Musk, one of the world’s wealthiest individuals, of attempting to sway the upcoming U.S. presidential election in favor of Donald Trump by reportedly planning to funnel approximately $45 million monthly into a new fund supporting Trump’s campaign, as per the Wall Street Journal.
Expressing frustration, Biden criticized Musk and other billionaires for their alleged influence in the election outcome. He called on Americans to contribute to his own campaign efforts to counteract what he perceives as undue financial backing for Trump.
On his social media platform X, Biden posted a message condemning Musk’s actions: “I’m tired of Elon Musk and his wealthy associates trying to manipulate this election. If you agree, join us here.”
Recent reports indicate Musk officially endorsed Trump’s candidacy following a recent assassination attempt on Trump during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Musk stated his endorsement on X, a platform he acquired in 2022.
The upcoming November 5th election will feature a rematch between Donald Trump and incumbent President Joe Biden, marking the first such rematch in U.S. presidential history in nearly seven decades.
