Ayo Olorunfemi, the National Vice Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), has asserted that the party is the optimal platform for Peter Obi to contest and win the 2027 presidential election, dismissing calls for the former Anambra governor to leave amid party turmoil.
In a televised interview on Channels Television, Olorunfemi addressed speculations urging Obi to exit the party, labeling such suggestions as delusional.
He emphasized that true supporters of Obi, including student unions, youths, and hardworking Nigerians disillusioned with prevailing challenges like hunger, see the Labour Party as the ideal ideological home.
Highlighting the party’s social democratic principles embedded in its constitution, Olorunfemi underscored that the LP offers a distinct path for Obi’s presidential aspirations, contrasting it with potential returns to the PDP or APC.
He fervently advocated for Obi as a transformative leader, asserting that the former governor embodies the qualities necessary to lead Nigeria effectively. Olorunfemi expressed confidence that, with divine grace, Obi will emerge victorious in the 2027 presidential elections.
