The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command has apprehended Sunday Musa, alias Dan Gwari, a Point of Sale (PoS) operator accused of facilitating the supply of sex workers and distributing funds to bandits in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Commissioner of Police Benneth Igweh disclosed this during a press briefing at the FCT command headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday. Musa was apprehended during a coordinated operation by the anti-kidnap unit at Kagarko.
According to CP Igweh, Dan Gwari served as the chief informant and logistics provider to banditry groups operating under the command of a fugitive leader known as Ardo.
The suspect admitted to facilitating the movement of nurses, drugs, and sex workers upon request by the bandits.
“He has confessed to acting as a financial courier, distributing over N20 million on behalf of the bandits to their families,” CP Igweh stated. He also confirmed that the bandits, led by Ardo, are armed with AK-47 rifles and comprise more than 15 members.
In a related development, the police also arrested a 41-year-old housewife, Ruqquaya Ibrahim, who was involved in supplying food and other essentials to bandits. She was apprehended at Gidan-Dogo forest while en route to deliver supplies, leading to the recovery of 14 rustled cows at the residence of the Shumau commander.
Igweh noted that Ibrahim, a resident of Sabon-Wuse, Niger State, confessed to supplying food items to the commander, who is currently evading arrest.
