Ahead of the 2027 general elections, Anambra State Governor and National Leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has declared the party’s readiness to form alliances with political parties that align with its progressive ideology. Soludo made this known during the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of APGA on Friday in Abuja.
Describing APGA as Nigeria’s foremost progressive movement, Soludo emphasized the party’s commitment to unity and true federalism. “APGA remains ready to extend a hand of fellowship to any party that professes true progressive ideology. APGA is alive, strong, and rising,” he stated. He noted that the recent Supreme Court ruling affirming the party’s legitimacy has bolstered its position to engage in partnerships for national development.

Reports indicate that discussions are ongoing among key political stakeholders, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of the PDP and Senator Musa Kwankwaso of the NNPP, about forming a coalition to challenge the ruling APC in the 2027 elections.
National Chairman of APGA, Barrister Sylvester Ezeokenwa, highlighted the party’s transformation agenda, focusing on discipline and youth inclusiveness. He announced amnesty for genuine party members involved in past internal crises, excluding non-members who disrupted the party’s progress.
Ezeokenwa also unveiled initiatives like the digitalization of the party’s membership register and the establishment of skill acquisition centers under the newly inaugurated APGA Foundation.
Prominent attendees at the event included Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu; Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe; and Anambra State Deputy Governor, Onyekachukwu Ibezi.
With this renewed drive and outreach, APGA aims to consolidate its position as a leading force in Nigeria’s political landscape.
