The Ministry of Aviation has been renamed the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace by the Federal Government.
Hadi Sirika, the minister of aviation, claimed that because aviation and aerospace were interconnected, Nigeria needed to define its policies in advance to consider potential outcomes.
The Minister made the announcement at the Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari, in Abuja.
According to Sirika, the change was necessary because it was on the exclusive list.
He said, however, that because of the advances in aviation, which had made aerospace and aviation entwined, Nigeria needed to set its policies in advance so that they would be compatible with future events.
