The Enugu State Government has once again called on its residents to ignore the sit-at-home order issued by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) for Monday. The government emphasizes that the ban on sit-at-home remains in effect and urges people to go about their normal business activities.
The Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Onyia, reiterates that participating in the illegal sit-at-home order is against the law and warns that any business choosing to remain closed may face permanent closure. Civil servants, schools, markets, financial institutions, and other establishments are directed to resume their regular operations on Monday.
The state government is determined to impose sanctions on those who defy the cancellation of the illegal order. Markets that fail to open and shops that close on Monday will be shut down indefinitely and re-allocated to others willing to conduct business in the state. The same warning of sanctions applies to schools, financial institutions, shopping malls, department stores, and all other establishments that might defy the government’s directive.
