Maj. Gen. Abdulsalam Ibrahim, the general in charge of the 3rd division and commander of Operation Safe Haven, has given soldiers bicycles as a token of appreciation for their hard work and commitment to duty.
The soldiers were given their prizes, which also included financial presents, at the Headquarters 3 Division Auditorium in Jos.
This information was provided in a statement that was signed by Lt. Col. Ishaku Takwa, the acting deputy director of Army Public Relations for 3 Division Jos.
The statement says, “Presenting cash gifts and brand new bicycles to the soldiers, Gen. Abdulsalami Bagudu noted the initiative was part of his vision to reward hard work and commitment to duty and also serve as means to motivate other personnel in the cantonment to be more dedicated to their task.
He further revealed that it was not just hard work that earned them the award but a combination of hard work, results and character.
“Gen Ibrahim, however, warned that soldiers must not be found wanting, as anybody found engaging in misconduct shall face appropriate sanctions.”
